I’ve just wrapped up week 4 of training at Surfing The Nations! It’s been such a whirlwind so far! We initially started out with a week of classes! We have curriculum that we are going for as part of our training. Another aspect of the program is our Ohana Service Project (OSP). The property we live on and have our offices at was once a drug infested apartment, a brothel, porn shop, and bar.

Through prayer STN has acquired these buildings and refurbished them. This area is beginning to flourish. It is still a homeless community and there are lots of issues with drugs. Our facilities are changing Wahiawa for the better. This is a project that is designed to either give back to the community or STN community. Our project is renovating one of the apartments on property. The idea is that we learn experiential knowledge by functioning as a team in this!We then went on our mini adventure! This was us backpacking in the mountains with limited food and water for 3 days. We also had several survival scenarios to navigate. The principal behind this is to see how we react in stressful situations…. With limited food and water! The next day we left for Cali!

We have a base out there and we spent a week in Huntington Beach for training! There is a huge drug problem there. Our base there uses action sports to reach the affluent young adults there. This was a super impactful time! I really got to see the global vision for STN while there! We’ve been back on island for a week now! It’s been quite the eventful week! In the airport I bought food that was “gluten free” I was sick for a week straight. I’ve thought about getting tested for celiac disease before but never went through with it…. I’m now considering getting tested.

This week was filled with working on our project, classes, and teaching my own classes.Teaching has surfaced as being part of my calling. And I’m pushing myself to get more and more experience in that area! Which is not My favorite thing to do 🙂 it seems to be part of my calling. So I am getting lots of experience in that! Our days are long and usually challenging…. But I know I’m where I need to be! This week we are working with the different departments at STN! So, we will be all over! This is where the staff get to take a look and see if they would want us in their department! I love you all so much and I am beyond blessed by your love and support! I am so excited to see what Jesus is going to do in this season!
