The past three months have been a whirlwind. Where do I even start? Our three months of training consisted of various activities. We have participated in classroom training where we as the students were teaching and various different speakers came to speak to us. We have been working on our Ohana Service Project (OSP) for all three months.
For this project we have been remodeling one of the apartments on property. It is almost finished!!! We just got back from Ecuador and were placed in the departments we will be working in for the next season. To be honest, these months have been really tough. Not in the way I thought it would be. It has been super difficult to be away from my friends and family. Yes, I may be living in “paradise.” Home is truly where your heart is. And I have been pretty homesick these days. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt this is where I am supposed to be. I am trusting Him with all of this. We are officially done with training!!!!
I was placed the Coffee bar and on Outreach! I am stoked to be moving forward with all of this. I am so excited to get better connected in the community through working at the coffee shop (and we all know Rachel loves coffee.) I cannot wait to see the connections the Lord brings through this new role. I am so excited about working with outreach. This is a huge part of my heart. Right now, our main forms of outreach are the food pantry and our drive through food distribution we do every Thursday called Feeding the Hungry. I have a lot of dreams about growing our current outreach to have a larger reach in the community. I am so stoked to see the Lord move in new ways. I am going to post bunch of updates! It has been a long time!
